Start with people.
Make the details clearer.
We approach product development by connecting a real need with a practical way to manage it.
Purpose comes before features.
We begin by asking what the user is trying to accomplish and where the process becomes difficult. More features do not automatically make a product more useful. Each part of the experience should have a clear role.
For Spot-Ya, the central need is helping people understand and keep track of financial arrangements within trusted relationships. That purpose informs how we think about agreements, balances, repayment records, and communication.
Clear information
Use understandable descriptions and make important details available for review. The amount, agreed terms, and repayment progress should be easier to follow than scattered messages or informal notes.
Useful records
Provide a place to document arrangements and record changes. A record is most useful when people can return to it and understand what it represents.
People remain in control
Support the decisions people make without suggesting that software can guarantee another person’s behavior. Users are responsible for the arrangements they enter into and the information they record.
Communication matters
Recognize that circumstances change. A practical experience should help people identify what needs attention and communicate about the next step.
How this applies to Spot-Ya
Before money changes hands, people can benefit from clear expectations. During repayment, they need a way to understand what has been paid and what remains. When plans change, they need to know which details require a conversation.
These are the situations guiding Spot-Ya’s core product experience. Our dedicated product page explains the roles of the Spotter and Spotee and how the app is intended to support them.

Spot-Ya is a technology platform. It is not a bank or lender and does not guarantee repayment.
Recording a payment made outside the app is a tracking action. It does not move money or independently confirm that funds were received.
Available features, charges, and applicable terms will be presented through the relevant product experience.
